    The Tool Wing

The Tool Wing keeps names for agents that do practical work rather than vague magic. Some entries suit command line companions that run scripts and shape terminal sessions. Others belong to safety gatekeepers, permission brokers, retrieval pipeline helpers, or design handoff tools. Each name should carry a hint of scope, because an agent that can act needs boundaries a user can read.

    Using the shelf

Start with the job. A database query agent wants a sharper name than a learning coach. A browser automation helper needs a different promise than a privacy boundary tool. Pair the generated name with the screen where the user grants access, then ask whether the tone feels too bold, too cute, or just clear enough.

    • Choose scout and compass words for exploration.
    • Choose gate and ledger words for restraint.
    • Choose bridge and relay words for integrations.
    • Choose forge and runner words for tools that create or launch.

Before you close the codex, ask a few plain questions.

    • What does this name permit the agent to do?
    • Where would the name appear in a product?
    • Which risk should the name not hide?
    • Could a teammate understand it without a demo?
