The turret wing
This wing keeps names for rooms that sit above the ordinary noise of a castle. Some are practical: watchrooms, signal chambers, linen lofts, workrooms, and cramped landings. Others are remembered because of a pale bell, a founder's habit, a sealed stair, or a rumor that walks faster than any guard.
Reading the entries
Use the height first. A tower room earns its name through the climb, the wind, and the view. Then choose the sharper detail: an arrow slit, a piece of furniture, a resident, a strange ornament, or a sound at night. The name should give you enough to draw the room, but not so much that the scene is already finished.
Combining results
A working writer can pair one result with another. Keep The Star Chart Study, borrow the access of The Hidden Step Chamber, and let a ghost rumor from The Pale Bell Room explain why nobody works there after dusk. The best tower room names behave like small keys. They unlock furniture, history, light, and suspicion.
- Who last slept here without fear?
- What does the window show at dawn?
- Which stair is avoided in bad weather?
- What object proves the old duty of the room?
- Who profits if the room stays forgotten?
